"Niisan?"
Touya blinked and glanced up from his homework to see Sakura standing in the doorway, looking unusually shy. "What is it, kaijuu?"
Sakura huffed a little, but didn't out right explode like she usually did. Touya raised an eyebrow, that must mean it was something serious. "You can come in, Sakura. Is something wrong?"
Sakura came in, closing the door quietly behind her. She stepped over and sat down next to Touya, just looking down at her hands. Touya waited, until finally Sakura looked up at him. "Ano... niisan... you're a boy...."
Touya blinked. "Well I hope so..."
Sakura's cheeks turned pink. "That's not what I meant! I mean it is, but... I mean..." She trained off into a blush, then blurted, "Syaoran-kun's birthday is next month, and I don't know what to get him!"
"Ah," Touya rubbed his chin thoughtfully. "And you wanted some advice from a male point of view?" Sakura nodded. "Why didn't you ask dad?"
"Because he's... dad," Sakura shrugged, and Touya had to admit that no more explanation was necessary. Fujitaka would probably suggest getting Syaoran an apron or a book or something. Not that the book wasn't a good idea...
"So why'd you come to me?" Touya asked, honestly curious. He made no secret of the fact that he didn't like Syaoran much. "You could have asked Yuki, he'd probably have good advice."
"I know..." Sakura toyed with the hem of her shirt, staring down at her lap. "But you're my oniisan."
Touya smiled a bit, honestly flattered. As much as he teased her, he really did love his baby sister. Of course he did. He ruffled her hair slightly, making her flail. He grinned. "Alright kaijuu, I'll try my best. Do you have any ideas at all about what you want to get him?"
"Ano..." Sakura blushed deeply. "I... I really like Syaoran, so..."
Touya's eye twitched. Not that that was any big secret, but to suspect it and to hear it straight from Sakura's lips were two very different things. He had to resist the urge to swim to Hong Kong and strangle the brat right then and there. Somehow he managed to keep his temper, waiting for Sakura to go on.
"So... I kinda... I wanted to get him a present that would tell him that, but I don't know..."
Touya sighed, rubbing a hand over his face. Girls. They read too far into everything. This was why he was glad he had Yuki. "Well, you gave him that teddy bear when he left, right?" Sakura nodded. "So that should have told him something."
"I know, but..."
Touya sighed. "Well, knowing the br- Syaoran," he ground out the name, and was rewarded with a dazzling smile from Sakura. "He'd be happy of anything you gave him. But he'd like it best if you made him something."
Sakura's face brightened, and she nodded, looking thoughtful. "That's a good idea! Maybe I could make him a plushie of one of the Clow Cards. Thunder, or maybe..." She grinned and hugged Touya. "Thank you niisan! I knew I could count on you! No spoiling the secret for Syaoran-kun, okay?"
Touya just chuckled and nodded. As if he'd ever voluntarily talk to the brat. He ruffled Sakura's hair, then made shooing motions. "I still have homework, kaijuu."
