I've just spent the last hour and a bit writing next week's installment of The Enemy Within campaign for WFRP, and come to a realisation:

I find it so much more enjoyable to write an adventure and then run it than I do to note down the key points of a pre-written plot and then translate it into a game.

I plotted for tonight's game.

I statted up NPCs and everything.

I wrote it all up, and knew exactly what would happen and when, and how things would happen if PCs strayed from plot.

What I didn't count on was my own ineptitude.
