glitches and the tarot

Stressing out a bit here over some paperwork emailed to me this afternoon.  Seems that some numbers given to Michael have been changed to higher numbers...as in - if we shell out this much - we will have not even two pennies to rub together once we are in the house. Huh.  Realtor (friend of very good friends...seemingly trustworthy) thinks it was an oversight on the part of the financial guy.  Let's hope so.  So much for closing this week, eh?

Since I am tired of packing (my books, what else?!), can't get motivated to see if my next presentation may be over-long, work on the linguistic anthropology lectures, revise my first lecture for the physical class, etc., etc., inspired by my friend Sophia (see Links list: "78 Notes to Self" - she's amazing!) - I turned to the Tarot.  Well, what else? ;)

I half-expected to pull out the 10 of Swords.  You know, the one where the guy is laid flat out on the ground, all 10 swords stuck into him, dead as can be.  ;)  Heh. Nope. 3  of Wands, which, in the DruidCraft deck I had chosen for the occasion, is quite a nice, encouraging card. A guy, looking like a farmer (one of my ancestors, no doubt!), one hand on a big old tree, a foot on a solid rock, staring out from a hill over a rural landscape.  Three strong, healthy, straight saplings are springing up by his left side. It's a really lovely card to me, on so many levels.  In The Universal Waite deck, the one I first began learning the Tarot on, yea all these years ago before I learnt that aspiring scientists ought not meddle with such nonsense, the fellow is standing gazing out upon the sea - holding firmly to a (somewhat taller) sapling. Not bad, but I like the other one for this moment in time.

The kids are so sensible and practical.  They figure, simply, that if this thing falls through, another one will happen in good time.  Me, I think I've been working toward this goal so hard for so long that it's easy to lose perspective. Still, I hope we can work this out.  It's been almost too easy so far. Maybe I should have expected a little more struggle!
