Update on Life and shtuff
Whhhhhat? I'm actually posting in my LJ? o_O
Yes, it does actually happen from time to time, usually when I'm bored, actually feel like writing and...well FA is down :-P
I'm finally getting on top of things as far as my life is concerned (great, now I've just jinxed myself...way to go!) I've found a common ground as far as my education goes...I'm currently planning on doing a Museum exhibit for the Florence museum on the Kolb site excavation (a site I've worked on for a few years). My thesis will use this Museum exhibit as a case study in a larger look at the how archaeologists relay what they do to the public, what kind of things are exhibited, why, etc. Its sill a little ephemeral, but much more solid ground that I was on before :-) I have a meeting with a guy at the Florence Museum Saturday, so hopefully we can hammer something out. Funny thing is, it turns out he's working on the same certification I am and knows some of the people over at the McKissick Museum.
Money was a little bit of a shock when I had to pay for classes this semester, but I think I'm getting better now. I'm pretty sure its too late for me to get any loans for this year, but since I don't have any loans I can take fewer classes next semester, hopefully preventing too much debt. >.< I'm still mad at myself for not being more on top of that stuff but oh well...guess we all gotta learn by mistakes at some point.
Kiro and I are doing great, we just hate the fact we almost never get to see each other anymore. By the time he gets home, I'm just getting to bed, and when I wake up he's still asleep. I know I'm lucky he's actually AROUND (one grad student only gets to see his wife when he drives home on the weekends :-() but still...sad face. We spend Saturday in Charleston, which I think was really good for us. A little mini-vacation where we could have fun together. I got a really kick ass ear cuff there, which I think I've finally found ear jewelry I actually like wearing. ^.^ Now I gotta find more.
Well, I guess that's about it for now. Planning on going to FWA this year, and hope everything works out. I'm so excited 'cuz I'll actually get to meet Inali in person for the first time, which will rock, and I know a number of other friends who miiiiiight be able to come. If you don't I'll hunt you down ;-) February is just too far away!
