More Polk County deputy STUPIDITY and hostility

Two  nights ago, it sounded like WWIII outside... or if you've ever been to a fireworks display where the "trailer" caught fire, you know what it sounded like.  It was like that for at least 30 minutes, and some of the explosions rattled our windows.  I walked down the road to where I could see some of the explosions through the trees/bush, and it looked like big fireworks mortars going off on the ground... there was too much brush in the way to see for sure, but I could see the stars flying up into the air as high as the surrounding trees.  (I couldn't see any fire, however... or smoke because it was dark).

We called 911... and told them clearly where the problem was  - repeated the direction several times and told them when they asked that we did NOT need the responders to come to our house.  At the time I was talking with the 911 operator and the fire department.

A few minutes there was a very hard pounding on our front door (shook our mobile home).  I opened the door and the pig wanted to know what was going on (you could hear the fireworks and smell the powder smoke).  He then informed me that I had requested that they come to our house.  I told him that like usual, they'd gotten things wrong, and that I'd called because I was concerned there might be a fire where people were storing fireworks in the neighborhood across the main road.  He said people were just shooting off fireworks (mortars and exploding devices are against the law for ordinary citizens in this county/state, or at least used to be).   I replied that I'd walked down to the main road where I could see a tiny bit, and that the shells/whatever were going off on the ground.  His response was "Well, they probably are throwing them in a bonfire" and asked me what I wanted them to do.  I reiterated that we were concerned that there might be a fire where fireworks were being stored (because it didn't sound like people just having fun), he said "well, I guess I'll check it out" and he left.  (He also admitted seeing and hearing the explosions and the smoke across the area was obvious).

Throughout the entire 'conversation' he was surly and spoke in an angry and aggressive voice.

My wife was outraged... but this is the sort of SHIT we regularly get from Polk County.  They brag about how great and professional their police are, and this is the treatment we've come to expect.  What is bad is in the past, if we called out of concern about someone else, they at least were reasonably civil.  This time, the pig wasn't.

I'd report this, but the last time we had a pig problem (profiled and they admitted it), I got a hostile and threatening call from the Sheriff's department (from the Sheriff himself) TELLING me that the problem was solved.  It wasn't.   I'd written a letter to the editor about the bogus traffic stop (broken tail-light that wasn't), the admitted profiling, and the aggressive and abusive treatment I'd gotten at the hands of the deputies.  I think I made him mad.

Getting someone to listen and do something about all of the crap that gets shoved on us... that's proved to be nearly impossible.

police, abuse
