Thanks *hugs back* It's.. it's hard to figure out where we're standing as a country right now, and that's scary.
And no need to apologize -this is a Very Big Day for the US, we're keeping tabs on the election and the national news here at home. It matters to us as well!
I heard about Mouriño when I came back from class around 6:00, I was really depressed since he was young and he had a very promising future ahead of him. As for it being an attack from a drug cartel, highly improbable but I wouldn't completely rule it out since he and Calderon had publicly declare war against the cartel and they had various death threats made to them and their families.
Oh and I voted and I have some feelings of happiness since it's the first time I vote, right after becoming a US. citizen (yay for double-citizenship) first thing I did was register to vote. Would have voted for Calderon too when he was running for President but I couldn't get my voting card :(.
I'm really sad about Mouriño, he was so damn young... I really like Calderon too, and seeing him give his speech, his voice breaking when he talked about his friend, it really got to me. I'm not usually very emotionally invested in politics or public figures but.. you know, this was really crap.
I think it's improbable it was an attack, too, but since the ex-commander of the SIEDO was riding there too... I mean, it's a long shot, but given the state of things right now, not impossible. Which pisses me off.
Congratulations about voting for the first time! I didn't vote for Calderon -didn't vote for Andres Manuel either! I voted for.. the other guy. Whose name I can't remember. Yeah, go me!- but I have come to really like Calderon. And of course, I'm glad anyone other than Andres Manuel won that one. We were oh so close to disaster...

I'm so sad (my mom is really sad and weirded out because the Secretary looked like one of my brothers.. I know it's silly, but I liked him...)
