Today is a day of news

Nov 04, 2008 20:04

I hope you all voted and that the election goes as best as it can, Americans! I know you all did your duty 'cause you're all cool people! Over here we're watching you and hoping for the best.

On other, very sad news that won't make the headlines because.. well, the eyes are on you, and this is.. a private moment for the nation, I suppose, there was a plane crash on Mexico City, the jet lost contact for a bit with control after reporting a malfunction, and then crashed on a street, tearing apart about 30 cars and with enough fuel for another 3 hours of flight, so they are still putting out the flames.

Our Government Secretary -the sort-of-equivalent to a Vicepresident- and the ex-head of the SIEDO -our drug traffic and crimes investigating agency- were aboard the plane, along with another 6 people. They died at the crash, and they are still rescuing people from the street where it crashed, so the final figure for dead and wounded is yet to come.

Our Government Secretary, Juan Camilo Mouriño, was a smart, young, capable, cool guy. He'll be sorely missed.

The media, being the crazy vultures they are, are suggesting this was an attack from the drug cartels. I freaking hate the media. They better not be right.

This is a sad day for my country, but I hope it will be a happy day for yours.
