Earth 11
In a move of greatness I forgot to post last night! uhm.. that's my third strike this NaBloPoMo. Erm. Well. The month is almost over and I'm hoping to catch up this weekend with everything I haven't catch up. Let's see if I can make it!
I think I asked some of you this question before, but it's one of those things that keeps turning up in my head. If we lived in Earth 11, do you know who you would be?
My mom didn't know if I was going to be a girl or a boy when I was born, so she had a boy name for me. Most of my friends' moms had opposite sex names chosen for them too, so we went around and asked them, and took a glimpse of what the Earth 11 gang would be like.
My mom would have named me Jaime (ala Blue Beetle, which would have been cool. I really like the name, too!). My friend Marcela would have been named Mauricio (the alliteration is apparently coincidence.) My friend Ana would be Arturo, Gabie would be Jaime as well (we would go by Jimmy and James, I'm pretty sure. I liked this show where a character was named Jimmy James, so.. that's what I would have called us, anyway.) The boys (D and JD) would be Isabel and Maria. Isabel was D's grandfather's name, and though it is a woman's name nowadays, it wasn't uncommon as a boy's name a long time ago. And I *know* JD would be the flirtiest, girliest of girls in the world. D would probably be pretty girly as well.
As for me... I would have been the only and youngest boy, and I think I wouldn't have been an architect but an engineer. I was originally going for electronics engineering buuuuut I burned out in highschool around the month where I should have been doing the entrance exams, so I didn't do any of the exams. Architecture didn't have an exam but a two weeks introductory course, and D was already in that school, so I.. uhm. Picked the school without an exam. (Yes! go me! what a mature decision!) But I think, as a boy, I wouldn't have followed Isabel like a puppy, and me and my best friend (Earth 1 Olga, Earth 11 Adrian, probably) would have go together to engineering and finished it (in Earth 1 she dropped out and later started systems engineering), which means I might have never met the gang at all...
