Oh man, one of the downsides of winter is that I can't stop eating. Pretty much everything sounds tasty right now -with the exception of not tasty things. I just finished my second dinner and if you were to offer me roasted chicken -I am.. very partial to roasted chicken- I would devour it as well. Mannn why is it so cooolllldddd???
(I am a wimp.)
So, before I run to finish Pattern Recognition, I thought I would link to
Pink Tentacle. I found it today at work while, uh.. looking for pictures of Parco stores -yes, yes, Pattern Recognition is eating my brain. For some unforeseeable reason it is not blocked at work and I hope it will remain unblocked! Because it's brilliant! What is it? It's a Japanese pop culture/news media/history/science/technology/cryptozoology/biology blog. In English. Do you know how hard have I looked for some of the stuff I randomly ran into here? It's like finding a whole new window into a culture that has teased me all my life with it's complexity and complete unavailability.
But not anymore, Japan. I'm on ur internet, reading about ur stuff.
My favorite post so far:
Seven mysterious creatures of Japan (CRYPTOZOOLOGY!!!)
I'm enjoying this waaaaaayyyyy too much. Also, it supports and celebrates octopus.
Octopus ftw.
