Yay! I have approximately 350 albums on vinyl and I've longed to have some of that music in a more-accessible digital format so this morning, I figured out how to do it while moving only a couple small and very portable items into my living room.
The easiest solution wasn't even feasible without major equipment moves because I do not have a stereo line-in (only a mono Mic-in) on my obviously portable laptop. So first, I tried running my receiver straight into my Kore audio interface. No dice there but that failure wasn't a surprise. Instead, I ran my receiver into my mixer and then ran the mixer into Kore which is plugged into my laptop via USB. Voila!
This made my day! Now onto the hours of work it's gonna take to do this since recording from vinyl is linear and totally unlike ripping a CD. It'll be worth it I think. And no, I'm not ripping 350 albums... just what I really miss. :)
