Примерно те же впечатления, что у rezonerа: картина Серова. "Девочка с яйцами". Спокойно вышла. Спокойно отгрузила речь. Не Рейган. Но не хуже Обамы. Правда, у нее никто в обморок не валился, и по ноге Мэттьюса не пробежала никакая дрожь, - но весьма солидно, спокойно, с хорошим напором и юмором.

No, he was too busy being scared:

"When we debate -- and, boy, she's going to be a tough debater, she's going to be a skillful debater -- I'm going to try to talk about the differences of our worldview here and what we're going to do for the country," he said.

"If it's going to get down to who can deliver the toughest lines, then she's going to win the debate," Biden added. "But I'm not going there."

"i'm not going there" - as in "I am not going to elaborate on this any further", or "I am not going to that debate, unless she promises to be gentle"?

actually, I think he did claim that she did not say how she will improve the situation for middle class, did not mention rising tuition, health care, etc.

She mentioned tax cuts and energy exploration and other things.

I know that in Democrats' heads those things are totally unrelated to the economy in general and the lives of the middle class, but that theirs problem, isn't it? :-)

I have not heard her actual speech, but I figured she would say that much (and she did mention what she did as a Gov of Alaska in her short intro speech). so I also thought this was funny. esp since no details beyond "take money из тумбочки from the rich" (and blow them into tires) were not suggested by the dem ticket. the old strategy of throwing some mud hoping some will stick seems to be still popular.

and another funny soundbite I have overheard recently from Obama went something like that: "they [republicans] talk so much about McCain's record. and it is a very honorable/impressive record. I too would talk about such a record if I had it. but since I do not, I talk about issues, like ..." I thought that was very deep;)

That too, but it was not her intention to lay the detailed policy of McCain administration.

right. I think it is kinda funny, though, how they apply these criteria from the side of Obama, who even among his supporters is not known to fill his allegedly brilliant speeches with too much substance.
