I havn't posted what I've been reading about all day long at work in awhile, mainly because I havn't had the time to do it. I just finished up a big project I'd been working on, and am back to having a lot of spare time

Did you catch the reference to the Sony ELUA? The part in question is highlighted ... I'd say that's shady at best:
As soon as you have agreed to be bound by the terms and conditions of the EULA, this CD will automatically install a small proprietary software program (the “SOFTWARE”) onto YOUR COMPUTER.
Don't you think it should, by law, have to describe what that program is and does? What a load of bullshit!
I know you're pretty tech-savvy ... any tips on how a novice/civilian could tell if this is on my computer?
And another question: it doesn't really say what the rootkit does ... does it just prevent the CD from being copied, or ripped to .mp3s, or is it worse in the sense that it like reports you to the RIAA or Sony or something?

I want to read the rest of the articles, and I think I'm going to take the rest of the day off sick ... cough and sore throat, but more than anything it's like my whole body and joints ache. F-ing crap! I just had the stomach flu over Halloween weekend! WTF?
