He didn’t understand it. He didn’t know what to do. He was in a hell of a predicament and time was closing in on him fast. Nino needed to get out of this; he couldn’t bear to lie anymore. It was right, and it made him sick, since frankly he had no intention of hurting her any longer. It would only be a matter of time before she found out anyway. That he was gay. And it didn’t matter how because in the end it would all be a big mess.

“Dammit!” He cursed punching the wall. There had to be a way, any way, just as long as he was out of this. Marriage? What could possibly make people think that he was ready for marriage? It was crazy, insane, and heart reaching.

Nino looked at the picture oh him and Miyuki in the living room. They were all happy and smiles. That was only a few month ago, before his life took a turn for the good, bad, and all the in between. Surely what he had started out with wasn’t going to last, or so he thought, but turn out it became much bigger and soon consumed him. Now here he stood lost as to what he could do, but he only had a few days left to figure it out.

His pocket vibrated. ‘Oh-chan’ the caller ID said. Not now. Why now? Nino was not in the mood to talk, but he couldn’t ignore Ohno and leave him to worry. He answered the phone. “Hey,” He sighed rubbing a hand over his face. “No…not yet. I’m trying to figure out how to do this before she does. It’s hard though, you know? Like by in doing so I’m taking away someone else’s happiness in exchange for my own.”

‘Well its not like you aren’t giving someone else happiness in return… and in the long run she will be happy.’ Ohno responded. Nino sat on the couch. “That’s true, but still, it feels selfish.”

‘Kazu…when has that ever stopped you.’

Nino paused. “Good point.” He sighed and looked at the ceiling of his and Miyuki’s apartment. “Oh-chan. Are you sure this is okay? You won’t hate me later on for it will you?” Nino asked slightly concerned and serious. “Like if something goes wrong, this wont be a mistake right?”

Ohno laughed. ‘Even if it was I wouldn’t regret it. Why? Because I love you, and you are my happiness, as long as you’re happy, so am I.’

Miyuki soon came home from her mothers all excited. Three days. Nino had three days to end this and he had to do it right. You only get one chance at something like this, and he, for once in his life, was going to risk everything.

The day finally came! Ninomiya Kazunari sighed as he looked at himself in the mirror. There he was, on his wedding day dressed in a tux not even about to marry the one he loves. He was even being honest with her about his feelings let alone loving her. He knew this was bad, that he had to do something, but what? What is it that he could possibly do now, when it was practically too late, he was about to walk down the aisle in a few minutes. What a mess this was turning out to be. He had no choice. This had to be done…but how?

“Do you, Ninomiya Kazunari, take this woman to be your lawfully wedded wife, to have and to hold, as long as you both shall live?” The priest asked.
Nino gulped and looked at Miyuki in the eyes. A sad and pain look feel over her face for a spilt second, like she knew what was about to happen.

“I…” Nino closed his eyes. He took a deep breath then opened them back up. “I can’t. I-I just can’t. I’m sorry Miyuki. I can’t lie to you anymore though. I…I don’t love you. If it wasn’t for the fact that I really do care about you and that I know you love me I would’ve ended this a long time ago, when I first knew. But I just couldn’t, you’re to kind, and sweet. I didn’t have the heart to crush you.” Nino took one of her hands in his. “You’re so genital, and I swear to you, that if it wasn’t for…my lack of love for you now, I would marry you in a heartbeat, I do love you…but in a completely different sense.” He was amazed at how smoothly the words came out of his mouth, with having so much trouble before he never would’ve thought that this would be so easy now.

“I didn’t mean to hurt you, honest. And I'm sure that it sounds just like I’m making up an excuse, but I’m not. I really almost didn’t do this, and married you, but the thought of hurting you even more killed me.” He let go of her hand. “I am so sorry Miyuki, and if you hate me. I will understand it.”

Miyuki looked at him long and had before letting any emotion overcome her face, and then she smiled sadly. “I kind of knew this was going to happen… Who is it? Satoshi-kun?” Nino jumped a little. “I figured as much. Promise me this one thing, Kazunari-kun…”

Nino nodded as Ohno stood up from his seat and walked over to the door. “Be happy, with Satoshi-kun. Always and forever.” She gave him a small kiss on the cheek, the last kiss she will ever give him, and walked off to get changed out of her dress. Yes she was sad, who wouldn’t be, but she was happy that he had told her, and not just went with the motions of loving her, and she was also glad that it was Ohno and no one else, because she knew that Ohno was a kind person and would always love Nino.

Nino was baffled for a moment before he walked out the church, all the guests still in their seats trying to over come this new shock. Eventually Nino met up with Ohno who kissed him on fist sight. “I’m happy, that you were honest with yourself, but most of all, Im happy she was glad that you where honest.”

Nino looked Ohno in the eyes for a moment before putting her head on his shoulder. “Im sorry Oh-chan, it took me so long…but everything’s clearn now.”

The two stood there like that for a moment before walking off to Nino’s apartment. He couldn’t stay there, not after all this, even if Miyuki didn’t keep the place, it would just be to painful. Ohno helped pack Nino’s stuff, but left a few things hidden for Miyuki just to say thank you. After they finished Nino looked around one last time He remember all the things that had happened there, and then he remember the look on Miyuki’s face just a little while ago. He would never forget that look. For this was the end. The end of their relationship. The end of Nino’s life then. But it also started things anew. And as long as he was happy, did it really matter?
