"That's life... stop whining!"

You know how many times I hear stuff like that? That life goes on and my menstrual cramps will get better after I have a baby? I've talked to three doctors about my severe menstrual cramps. About my abnormal abdominal pain, the super heavy flow for all of six to eight days, and the screaming... oh the screaming...

Just less than an hour ago I recieved spammail. But as Elka puts it, "spam of the informative type!" The spam was called EndoKnow. It's all about learning about what severe menstrual cramps really is. It's called Endometriosis (or Endo).

Here are the most common symptoms for Endo:
1. Years of chronic menstrual pain before, during and even after a cycle.
2. Extreme depression and anxiety.
3. Cramps that are so painful and embarrassing that you take time off of work once a month to combat them.
4. Can't stand up and do the things you want to. Even sitting can be painful. Must be lying down for the entire time.
5. Heavy periods
6. Pale and weak from excessive blood loss
7. Painful periods
8. Painful sex
9. Infertility
10. Bloating or swelling
11. Nausea.
12. Leg pain
13. Constipation/Diahrea (sp?)
14. Painful bowel movements
15. Frequent urination
16. Other

Now.. I have almost all of those symptoms. The only one I can't say that I have or not is the infertility since I've never gotten or even tried to get pregnant so I would not know.

Well now, I know what these constant cramps and sexual pains might very well be and if I ever get any insurance I can do something about it. I damn well hope my doctors and family don't sluff me off anymore. My mother would always stay in my room when I was having a particular painful bout. The pain would be constant for about three-to-six hours at a time and I would be just screaming bloody murder the whole time. No one knew what to do. I went to the doctors.. they didn't care.

The pain lately has diminished in ten-fold after being on the birth control patch. It's helped so much. It's far better with regulating my cycle and cutting back on the pain. I had taken the pill before for the regulation and it was doing almost nothing. I am so glad I have the patch. But even with the patch, I am still not able to work. I need to get a job and this is one of my biggest hindrances in looking for one.

Want to know more? Here is a case history that touched my heart. I share all her pain and then some and I'm only 22! (except for the pregnancies of course)
