*nodsnods* Yes, and it's hard to write these things-all those grey areas and conflicts of moral character-and make it come across the way it should, but I've been playing with it more and more in my writing, because it does seem to be the crux to it.
Also, to address your conversation with Militsa, I find that dialog is much easier to write, too. Much easier than the rest of it. I struggle mightily with some of the subtleties of writing narrative, especially with "big picture" devices like theme and symbolism. That's one of the reasons I admire your roomie so much; she is able to bring those elements to a story in what seems like an effortless way. She has a depth and three-dimensional feel to her writing that is amazing to me.
Anyway. I return your sentiments wholeheartedly. Go forth and write us more Roy/Riza! Or whatever makes you happy. (But I love your Roy/Riza and want to see more. ♥ )
