The World is My Shower Curtain

Jan 20, 2007 16:05

My housemate, in her infinite wisdom, bought the shower curtain pictured below and hung it up in our bathroom shower. I haven't left the bathroom since.

I love this shower curtain. Whatever I'm doing, the whole world is watching me. The people of Bangui, the capital of the Central African Repubic, can now watch me shave. The islanders of the Caroline Islands can watch me dry off -- and that's dry off and nothing else. The world is right there, on the shower curtain! How amazing is that!

I've actually planned out a schedule around this shower curtain. All of next week is dedicated to Africa, the long-neglected continent. I plan to make my introductions to Gaborone (Botswana), Liberville (Gabon), and Lusaka (Zambia). I will follow that up with Asia, South America, Central America, the Caribbean, the Pacific Islands, Europe, and North America.

There are so many countries I just wasn't aware of before. I've honestly never heard of the Central African Republic. Also, there's this Prince Edward Isaland ( that's the spelling on the curtain ) that belongs to South Africa. Who knew??
