Like I know what the subject is!

So despite my disdain for my Health class, I still only got an 84% on the first test.  I did study! (for about 15 minutes) but after I studied I went and talked with one of my professors I had for a class 2 semesters ago and what was supposed to be a 15 minute visit (asking for a letter of recommendation and telling her a bit about my semester in DC) turned into about an hour and a half.  It was actually great fun--talked about DC, grad school/life after graduation plans, Joyce, Hardy, Dickens, and of course the Gothic.  It was really entertaining, and since I'd rather remember that stuff than statistics and very specific terms from my Health class (which has lectures that focus on really general common sense stuff), I didn't remember anything that I'd crammed/read and so got an 84% on the test.  Oh well.  I'm still not going to expend much energy on that class.  On the bright side, in the testing center they were playing the soundtrack from "Anne of Green Gables" (that miniseries with Megan Follows and Jonathan Crombie).  Good music makes everything better.

And I got busted at work yesterday for being on gmail.  Apparently we aren't supposed to be on gmail at work, and so my supervisor happened to come along and saw me on it, chatting with my sister, and she told me (basically) to get off.  So I did.  But in my defense, everyone (and I do mean everyone) that I work with always has gmail and facebook open, so I assumed it was okay.  Apparently not....  But work is gonna be awfully boring now...  :)

Do you blog stalk?  Part of the reason I love LJ/blogger is that you can just hop around and read other people's blogs/LJ.  I found this great blog with lots of fashion/vintage photos, and she also loves "1776" and is, as she calls it, "a member of 'Team Adams' "--yea for the John Adams love!!  I know some people think it's creepy, but I love the fun little insight you get into people's lives.
And on that whole "Presidential" subject, here's 2 of my favorite shots that I took in DC...  They're pretty much the same, but one has the fountain and the other doesn't.  That was an interesting night.  Friday night, not many people out walking around, a light rain--it was great.  I wandered up and down Pennsylvania Avenue with a Barnes & Noble bag filled with new Georgette Heyer books, and singing along to my ipod.  It was one of my absolute favorite nights in DC.  I felt like the whole city belonged to me. :)
