So I was watching "Ever After" the other day, and just loved the look on her face, so I made a screen cap, and then cropped it.  And voila, an icon!  It's awfully dark, but it's the best I could do with my little "paint" program.  And even if I was back at school with access to Photoshop, I still wouldn't know how to make it lighter (well, maybe I ( Read more... )

Very nice! *applauds*

Oh dear! Are you all grown up and responsible now? ;-)

I thought an "enlisted man" was anyone who was in a branch of the service and an officer was...uh, hang on...

Okay. According to dictionary.com:

enlisted man
-noun any member of the U.S. armed services who is not a commissioned officer or a warrant officer, esp. one ranking below a noncommissioned officer or a petty officer.

officer
-noun 1. a person who holds a position of rank or authority in the army, navy, air force, or any similar organization, esp. one who holds a commission.

So, the difference seems to be whether a person is commissioned or noncommissioned. What that exactly means, I'm not sure.

Now, I must confess that I am secretly addicted to M*A*S*H. Shhh! Don't tell anyone! ;-D

What I know about Anastasia: I had heard that for a while, the bodies of the entire family had been found, excepting one. It was unclear if the one missing was Anastasia or one of her sisters. I don't know why people decided that the one missing was Anastasia (perhaps she because she was the youngest, and it made for a better story?) but apparently, they did.
I just read in the newest issue of Smithsonian magazine that the remains of the Czar and his wife and three children had been identified already, and that the remains of the other two children were identified just this year using DNA.

It's summer. You don't have to think deep thoughts. ;-)
