AKB48 was later changed to 40.1 and that is the final rating. 38.6 was after the first correction. the second and final is 40.1

okay, this is hard for me to explain because i got this from another person who got this from another source

You're right about them saying AKB48 got 40% in the video. I'll add it in brackets for the time being.

It actually depends on the source but a lot more source pointed that AKB got 38.6% such as graph from Nikkan Sports(http://i.imgur.com/ob2Er.jpg) and Sponichi(http://uploda.cc/img/img50e75ee9a2ad3.jpg).

Some people from 2ch also pointed this out

21.22pm and 20sec AKB appearance start
21.27pm and 55sec AKB song ends
the ~40% ratings is actually around 21.28pm

But anyway we'll never know the exact ratings for each seconds unless NHK release the official ratings.

hmm i see, i'll ask the other guy for the specific source and see where it's from for now.

Well, each source differ from one another. For example if you observe closely, the Nikkan Sports and Sponichi also shows some different ratings. Maybe your friend got his source from Daily Sports(http://www.daily.co.jp/gossip/2013/01/05/0005647490.shtml ). It did say that AKB got 40.1% ratings.

I think liime_arix should put the actual source to where she got those ratings, Nikkan Sports I think and should stick to ratings from the source.
