Title: Emerald Star
Focus: Kino Makoto (Sailor Jupiter) from Bishoujo Senshi Sailormoon
Owner: Kotono (silkaura)
URL: http://ko.moon.nu/jupiter/

You should visit this shrine because...: Let's face it, they don't make Sailormoon dedications like they used to. Ten or twelve years ago, the Internet was absolutely rife with shrines devoted to every character you could think of. In more recent years however, things have quietened down considerably on the Sailormoon front, but that doesn't mean you can't still find some sites that remind you of the good old days. One such shrine is Kotono's "Emerald Star", an inviting dedication focused solely on the beautiful tomboy, Kino Makoto.

Kotono invites the visitor to explore Makoto's world by providing a varying assortment of articles for readers to peruse. There are important introductory facts that pave the way to more in-depth dissections of Makoto's personality, role in the series and lively romantic life. Kotono has a wonderful writing style, it is passionate, descriptive and informative.

The written joys of "Emerald Star" extend well into the interactive section of the shrine, where fan wants are indulged with creative writing, fun lists and graphic designs. While there isn't a particularly large section for media, Kotono must be thanked for thinking outside the box with its content and presentation.

"Emerald Star" is not the biggest shrine you'll ever visit, but it says so much about Makoto that you won't find elsewhere. Kotono has set out to explore the character and give visitors a memorable experience - she succeeds wonderfully at both.

Highlight: "Deep in the Heart" which looks at Makoto's complex relationship with the opposite sex. Fascinating, especially to those without much of a background on the manga.
