rl poetry stuff!
Back in like, May, our band learned that we were going to get a commissioned piece of music (band, orchestra and choir) for the opening of our new school building. It was suggested that we use student-written poems as lyrics for the choral piece of the work.
Back in late October, we had a (mandatory) poetry contest to determine those lyrics.
Today, I found out that I was chosen!
This makes me happier than punch, guys! It wasn't the kind of thing I was expecting to win.
I don't know how much of my poem they are going to use (it may only be a line or two) but still, wow, that is so exciting! The piece is going to be printed to be used nationally and my name is oging to be on it!
