dear yuletide author

Hello! So, I've never really done this before but I'm thrilled that you got paired with me! The name switch might be a tad confusing, but I'm phasing out this username in favour of aragons. Now that's out of the way, down to the fun stuff. I recognise that the fandoms I've requested are not exactly obvious choices but since you're here, it's clear you're of a similar persuasion. I'm really very easy to please - het, slash, femmeslash are all a-okay by me, as is a well-observed gen fic. Any and all ratings go but honestly? Just write what you feel like writing, what you're comfortable with. Be inventive, be different - basically, write what you want to write!

things I enjoy:
Strong, intelligent, witty women; pop-culture and literary references; witty dialogue; round characterisation; circular structures; clumsy, awkward, tension laden interaction; arguments of equals; queering; kissing and hot make-outs.

things to avoid:
Overly sappy love stories; sex that doesn't fit into the story; character bashing.

Now on to the fun stuff!

THE PHILADELPHIA STORY
tracy lord, macaulay connor, elizabeth imbrie.
I can't lie, I ship Tracy/Macaulay entirely too much, but if you don't want to go down that route, that is totally fine. But really, I just love their interaction, the way they see through each other and find a very easy banter behind that. Also, Liz Imbrie. I love her, I love how she's so put upon but does it anyway and can see it all heading in disaster. I'd really love it if Tracy and Liz could actually interact properly, get some lady time in, talking about the men and their ridiculous behaviour. If you could write something about the wedding preparations, or even an alternate ending sort of thing, oh lord would I be pleased.

DOWNTON ABBEY
sybil crawley, tom branson, isobel crawley, gwen.
Sybil/Branson or Sybil/Gwen would be adored. I love Sybil's evolution from the quiet sister into suffragette sister! (And how can you not love a ship that boils down to suffragette sister/socialist chauffeur.) I love her relationship with Gwen, the way she encourages her to better herself, to put her skills to use. Anything that explores the depth of their friendship would be fabulous. As for Isobel, I'd love some backstory on her, about her relationship with Matthew's father or her time as a nurse. Just something that explores her character.

THE SOCIAL NETWORK
erica albright, divya narendra
Anything that talks about Erica post-Mark and about how awesome she is would pretty much solve all my fic needs. I confess, I have a soft spot for the idea of Erica/Divya because hey underappreciated awesome recognises other unappreciated awesome. And because the banter would be amazing.

THE GOOD WIFE
kalinda sharma, diane lockhart, will gardner
Ship-wise, Diane/Will is something I can't help but ship. I love their relationship, their easy, understanding banter. I love his idealism and her pragmatism and their brilliance. Anything that delves into how they first got to know one another would be stellar. As for Kalinda, well, what is there to say about this glorious woman? I adore her. Just, whatever you do, please don't ship her with Cary. I couldn't take it.

Alright, with all that in mind, I hope you have fun writing! Feel free to drop me an anonymous PM if you need any clarification.

Thank you!
Isobel / aragons
