OK... what is wrong with Hollywood (other than the usual)
Last week my husband and I were disgusted to see two new movies due out in the states soon.
1. Footloose.... REALLY?!?! How exactly can that story be revived in today's society? Besides Kevin Bacon and the 80's music worked just fine as I recall.
2. Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. Again...really? The Swedes did a beautiful job with the trilogy...and since it originates with their author...why wouldn't they have done a good job. (If you have not seen them...do so; the acting and writing and the pacing of the film is brilliant)
I suppose the majority of Americans could not be bothered to read subtitles....or follow the slower pace of a foreign film...
Seriously... remakes of old 80s flicks and stories that have already been done. Every year it seems that they can't come up with original ideas. Even a cliche is bearable as long as it isn't just a remake.
I'm honestly waiting to see them redo "Casablanca" or "Gone with the Wind"
But we ask them to keep things like SGU or Firefly on the air and they all go wonky,
