Finally! A Day that Kicked Ass

Jun 03, 2007 10:25

As many of you know, work had been very frustrating over the past while ... so I got pissed off and decided to go to Ottawa for the summer. So things here have been relatively good, but I do need to find a job because I have been getting bored. It also doesn't help that Dave has been away at a conference since Thursday.

But I do have to say that yesterday kicked ass. Some of Dave's friends invited me for a hike in Gatineau Park -- which was completely awesome because not only was it absolutely beautiful with it's relatively old growth forest, but we saw an amphibian (I think it was a type of salamander). The verticalness almost killed me, though -- part of the downfall of being from the prairies.

I also got invited to a watch the hockey game/barbecue at a Dave's friends' place. It was an absolutely amazing experience because after the Sens won, we marched down Elgin Street with all of the other rowdies, and Dave's friend, Ryan, attached a Canadian flag with "Go Sens Go" (in big black letters stapled to it) to a hockey stick and waved it around as we marched from one end of the street to the other.

It was my best day here yet. It only could have been made better if Dave had been here too.
