The Story:
This year's story is inspired by the true story of Blackbeard's final
adventure, in which
his short but bloody two-year reign of terror was ended by Lieutenant
Robert Maynard off
the coast of North Carolina (legend has it, Blackbeard was shot five
times and stabbed
more than twenty times during the battle, and fell only when a member
of Lt. Maynard's
crew decapitated the pirate).
