I hate math. It's never just math, either. It's always the math course I'm in, and the professor that's teaching it. Take, for example, Contemporary Math - like many teachers, this woman plays favorites, usually with older students who joke around and talk to her after class. She tells us at least once a week how, if we have any problems with the class, we can be sure to speak to her about it after class, or during her office hours. Today, I went to try and speak with her and she spends the 15 minutes between classes chatting with three students, telling me to "just hold on one moment," then makes to leave the class saying "Oops, gotta get to my next class!"
I chase after her and say "Excuse me professor... I know I didn't do well on this test, but etc. etc." And she looks at me strangely and says "Oh, uh, I'll be in my office tommorow at about 2:15. Go speak with me then." I tell her "Look, I have work" (although this is a lie, I am not going to sit around the school for 4 hours to speak with her) "and you said you'd speak with me after class." I then started speaking to her, and she brushed me off, and was like "oh, gotta get to my next class."
I mean, she has all the fucking time in the world to shoot the shit with her favorites in the class, but when a student she doesn't know more than a name tries to get some help, she can't take time out of her busy social schedule to let me talk for two minutes? I mean, I know professors like to get to the next classes as quickly as students, but she comes into our class ten minutes late every day.
If I do poorly on this course, I'm gonna key her car. Seriously. Bitch can't even let me ask a few simple questions.
