No Bad Moon Rising? I am sad.

BMR was good, but it featured the werewolf stuff pretty heavily and in the early going that was not one of my favorite things (OK, it never really was). Honestly, it's probably closer to the mid-range tier for me when looking back at episodes. I mean, when there were only 32 episodes, I had it ranked at number 23.

But really? That's your only comment? I am sad.

The reason this is my only comment is that this kind of list is so subjective. There are a few eps here I don't agree with, but then you wouldn't agree with all of mine, so it's difficult to get any depth into it. The rest I all agree with (especially Masquerade).

I just have a huge soft spot for BMR. : )

Well, every TVD post I write is subjective. It's all my opinion. I want to hear your thoughts on my thoughts, including those you agree with. I mean, do you agree with my reasons. Why would you have them on your list? And I want to hear what episodes you disagree with and why, and which episodes you would put in here (for the first four seasons). As I said it was tough narrowing it down. In some cases, it really was a case of just one scene, or one performance, one reason that led me to crossing an episode off of my list because so many on this show are so good.

Any time I can get some discussion of TVD is great for me and we all know there isn't much time for that any more. :(

Beautifully said. This was one of my very favorite episodes too. It was wonderfully characters-oriented and just riveting all around.

There was a reason that MMF was my favorite episode until MBK and that was all the way in season 04. MMF was just so damn good. Every character was so well damn serviced, not just the main ones (Damon, Elena, Stefan), the semi-leads (Caroline, Bonnie), but also the supporting players (Tyler, Jeremy, Jenna) and the vampire, brother, family, friendship and romantic stuff was fantastic.

“The second season opener was the best premiere of the series hands-down.” - I was thinking about this long and hard and came to the shocking conclusion that… I agree lol The reason why I wasn’t sure at first if I felt the same way was that while this episode was absolutely fantastic, it didn’t make my top 10. But then I remembered that it was most likely just because it was too sad overall ;)And this is when I first began to go hmmm... because I was like, this isn't about happy or sad, LOL. “and definitely from her point of view, Elena to Damon, yes, there was a bit of romantic feeling there, but more friendship, I believe.” - To me it was always the moment when Elena’s unconscious self realized it was love. She might have admitted it wordlessly to herself in 3x01, but the moment when her heart knew was during that scene. That’s how it played out to me, how Nina brilliantly played it. It’s all there in little gestures and in her face.I do think it was love... but there is a difference between love and being *in love* with someone and she wasn't quite there yet. She was still *in love* with Stefan. Remember Stefan hadn't gone off for the summer yet. She and Damon hadn't spent all that time together, Elena hadn't really begun to grow up and find herself beyond her grief (which she had clung to thanks to Stefan). I do think that Elena unconsciously realized that despite everything Damon had done, she didn't want him to be someone else, she loved Damon just as he was. She did love him, but she wasn't *in love* with him yet.

Obviously, I will do a much more in-depth response, but I noticed something throughout all of these comments. You kept saying "favorite" episode and why you wouldn't pick so and so episode no matter how good it was which made me realize you didn't quite get my choosing of these episodes. This isn't a list of my favorite episodes or my rewatch episodes. I have no idea what my favorite episodes would be. I rewatched episodes only after they aired or rewatch whole seasons (or specific scenes). I'm sure I will rewatch and figured out my favorite episodes when I'm done with my last two specific series rewatches. But as of now? I'm not sure

Well, let's be real, most types of these things done by fans are generally subjective and don't attempt any kind of objectivity, LOL! It's absolutely understandable.
