The snow yesterday was gorgeous. Those big fluffy flakes that just scream to be eaten elementary-school style; that is, with your tongue stuck out and running around like an idiot. Sadly it only lasted for about an hour. Oh well. It's a rare occurance if the snow actually falls vertically instead of at a near parallel to the ground. That's excessive wind for you though.
Went to a poetry reading for about a half an hour yesterday. It was put on by the Women's Studies department. Really interesting stuff, had some poems on body image, Saint Katherine and media perceptions on Kate Moss.
Looking forward to the weekend, I think I'll dedicate it to baking and getting my taxes done. Currently planned are a batch of scones, a loaf of banana bread and a few dozen chocolate chip cookies. Yum. <3
I made an amazing venison pot roast last night. Even though I didn't put the garlic in until about 3 hours into it. I coated both sides in herb mix and Lawry's seasoning salt and it cooked for about 8 hours. The meat basically melted in your mouth. Damn, I rock.
Supertramp's
The Logical Song makes me incredibly happy. One of the best songs to do the robot to I think. Logic is cool, this song is cool but not as cool as logic.
XKCD's
tribute to Gary Gygax is hillarious. Sad to see him go though.
This coffee I'm having while getting ready for my test is really gross. I generally like coffee, but this one is really... I dunno, acidic - has that nasty aftertaste of burnt stuff. The description of it says it's 'nutty' and generally the descriptions are spot on. I'm kind of disappointed but this is just a sample so I'm glad I didn't pay for it.
A week from tomorrow I'll be on my way to Yellowstone for spring break. The microbio club is going there to collect thermophilic(heat loving) bacteria from the hot springs. We also did enough fundraising that I only have to pay for food and whatever souvenirs I want. Woot!
GSA is getting geared up for our
Day of Silence observation in April. It's supposed to be on April 25, but since that's a Friday we're going to celebrate the day before. That way it'll have more of an impact on the student body. We're meeting at my place Sunday to make posters and work on a press release etc... I'm doing a lot of the organization on this, so I hope it turns out. *worry*
Talk at you all later!
