I see

Well, I seem to like to wait a while between posts. (ah, hahaha, while = MONTH)
...

Anyway! Life's been going well. Earlier this month was about a week and a half of bad luck/anger at the world in general, but that seems to have passed since the last week or so has been exceedingly pleasant although all of it has been stressful. X_X But that's the way it goes! Besides, if I wasn't stressed, then I wouldn't be busy, which would imply that my life was in a rut. I would far rather be stressed and busy than bored with myself. Blergh, boredom.

To avoid the boredom there are the two necessary things in my life right now, school and work.
School is as always. I'm getting through my classes, not spectacularly and not especially poorly, but I don't seem to naturally excel as much as I used to. I am really having to put my head to the books this semester and I only have a few classes. Microbial Physiology is proving to be especially difficult, not just because of the material but also because of our instructor's accent. He does a great job teaching, but living in SD doesn't prepare you for trying to understand someone who learned English in a different county. I'm getting better though, his German/South African Accent won't deter me for long! I'm taking an art class this year, which is actually really nice since I haven't sat down and drawn with purpose for a while. So I drew my current DnD Character, Rygar Tanglemane, a gnoll ranger. Yes, I mean gnoll as in the things you generally fight when you're level 3 or so... turns out they can be player characters too!

Work has been quite pleasant, as always. I keep on mating the insects and we keep collecting data. It is truly my coworkers and supervisor just above me that set the atmosphere. We had a 'birthday party' for my friend/co-worker/fellow future microbiologist Jenea (pronounced Juh-nay) earlier this month. It was deliciously awesome. I made her a marbled cherry cheesecake which we ate with Jack Daniels Flavored coffee in our boss's office. MMmmm, coffee and cheesecake are simply divine together.

And speaking of food! I have been cooking up a storm around here recently. I guess I'm fairly decent at cooking (who knew?), I must have gotten it from my Grandmother on my mom's side or my dad's side of the family. My mom doesn't cook much. Speaking of cooking, since it's Thursday morning and I don't have class until 1, I generally make something in the crockpot since I have class til 8:30... I haven't figured out what to make tonight... Crap. *browses internet recipes*

The weather here has finally turned a bit for the better, instead of ungodly below zero temperatures we now have something more seasonable, it melted for a while yesterday! This turn in weather has really made me anxious for spring. Yesterday I was so anxious I felt like I was going to explode. I don't know how many of you have ever had a dog, but have you ever seen where they get so excited that they shake? I"m not talking shake your hand, I mean they vibrate and quiver with excitement. When my dog, Echo, does it he 'sings' a little bit too. He's not allowed to bark so he sort of howls with his mouth closed. It's funny, but it's the best way I could describe how I felt yesterday. I smelled the earth as it thawed which made me think of green things and spring and all of the wonderful things I get to do in my garden. I was a ball of happy, lively, slightly annoying energy yesterday. Hopefully some exercise does me well and gets a little of this energy out.

Also, yesterday Cody and I signed our rental agreement on a little house here in Brookings. It's going to be more expensive for us than it is in our apartment, but we did the math and it'll work out. It's a two bedroom, two bathroom house built in... oh I'd say the decades of the 50-60's and has a lot of add-ons. It has a small yard and a large tree in the back. YAY TREES! I'm thrilled to be able to plant a garden in a yard, but that means I'm going to have my community plot AND a small garden in the yard. This summer is going to be so busy, and so awesome. Also the second bedroom means we can comfortably have guests. :D Yes, that's an informal invitation

All for now, ciao!
