Dreams are such an odd thing. They throw thousands of ideas that might be relevant to each other into a mishmash of endless meanings and confusion. I enjoy them, and am gifted with many that I am lucky enough to remember. Even the nightmares to an extent are enjoyable, simply because they add color to an otherwise endless void known as sleep. Last night's dream was interesting, and I figured I'd share it since it was incredibly lucid in terms of color and content, but made little sense to me otherwise.
---
The dream starts off with Cody and I stepping through some sort of gate or door. It isn't a physical representation of any opening, but us stepping through whatever it is starts the dream. I know that we're in Pittsburgh and that we flew here, but I don't know why or what sort of place we are. It's a flat expanse with two levels, somewhat like a flat rooftop. Jon and Gen are on the other side of the opening, but they aren't really human figures. They're more like presences that have the feelings and memories associated with Jon and Gen with them. (if that makes any sense, lol) Jon comes up to Cody and they start to talk and walk away. I meander in and look at the trees on either side of the flat area, and the skyline. Gen says my name and brings me to a group of 'people'; they aren't people I know, and they aren't really people either. The people I don't know at all are white, amorphous and have no face, but I talk to one presence and the more I talk him, the more human he looks. After a few sentances he has a face and bright blonde hair.
Jon comes back without Cody(I don't know where he went) and the large group of people break into two groups. I somehow know I'm supposed to go in one group, Jon and Gen go in the other and on the upper level of the split level flat area. Both groups form circles for an unknown reason. They both sit and talk without words or meanings, and I listen. Soon, one 'person' says they have to leave for a wedding and all of my group leaves. I stand and walk over to the large circle of people with Jon and Gen in it. They're talking too, but I don't understand it, so I take out a piece of paper and draw a turkey from my hand. As I'm drawing the tail feathers, I feel cold and look up. Gen is the only person there and she is distinctly human now as I remember her this summer.
She tells me that she is going to go take a shower and that I should go find her cat. I find the cat, it's a giant, cream colored Persian, and bring it to her. She's standing in the shower, fully clothed, with the mirror fogged from humidity and she's not wet. She says to check the cat over for injuries, so I look it over and find a patch of fur missing on the tail. I say it's a bug bite and hand her the cat. The cat immediately gets wet in the shower, but Gen stays dry. I walk outside of the shower room and decide to go run along the skyline of buildings silhouetted against the moon.
