This post is made of blah and ramble

Well, it wasn't quite 48 hours... it was a lot more than that. But hey, I'm getting there. All of you have known me long enough(no matter how brief it was) to know that I suck at getting deadlines. Even self imposed ones. Anyway, time to get you all up to speed on what I: need to get off my chest; think you should know; am thinking about; craving; wanting; annoyed at; need to journal about or just what I feel like talking about.

Since it's been... oh, let's say a month for roundings' sake, I'll start back in September. That is, back when the weather was actually not cold and rainy; in fact, it was unseasonably warm up until about a week and a half ago. September wasn't bad in terms of life in general. We actually had a fall season here this year. There was a cold snap that hit mid of the month and caused all of the leaves to turn their respective, chlorophyll-deprived stages and we had an odd lack of wind; it was nice, but I hate fall. Because it leads to winter. And as I ranted about last year around this time, I really really dislike the noise of dead leaves. It sounds like I'm stepping on a thousand tiny skeletons; great for relieving anger, but awful for trying to relax on a nice walk. I prefer the noise of the green rustle above; but I suppose everything must mature and die at some point, no matter how reluctant I may be to see it go.

And on the note of maturation, the harvest this fall had a marvelous batch of Honeycrisp apples come out of it. I picked up a 1/4 peck for $5 at the farmers market earlier this fall and they were positively lush. The people who sold them were kind as well, I could have sat and talked with that elderly couple all afternoon; they were so interesting and gave me some great tips on how to prepare the fruit. I thought they would be destined for a pie, but since Cody doesn't like pie and I don't want to have an entire pie to myself, I figured it would be best to just eat them as is. Besides, just last week I made 5 dozen of my mom's recipe sugar cookies; and I think that those are going over much better than a pie would have.

School has been fairly hectic, I have a 17credit load, with 4 labs a week(about 10-12 hours of labs) and 17 hours of work a week. The labs are killing me, ugh! But I guess it's for the better, I won't be able to get along with myself if I'm not busy. Boredom is tatamount to uselessness in my eyes, just sitting around anymore can make me agitated. Not a good thing, since it might just run me to my grave, but not a bad thing; this semester I am the most organized and motivated I've ever been. I really have to be since I'm splitting my time between our apartment and my dorm and I need to keep all of the stuff I need together so I get my homework done on time(which is hard enough as is).

Along with school itself, I'm a member of the Campus Women's Coalition and I'm the 'Keeper of Minutes' (i.e. secretary) for GSA. Which means I update the facebook site and keep in contact with the members so they know when our meetings are and what's going on. I'm also trying to get back into Microbiology club to help me out with my degree, but the meetings are at the same time as GSA, so it's difficult to find the time. I'm also a member of the marching band (SDSU Pride Marching) which has been eating up a lot of my free time and weekends with all of the music memorization and raffle tickets. We're going to California this winter to march in the Rose Bowl parade so we were selling raffle tickets for a Ford Mustang to pay our way. Each band member had to sell 95 tickets, and as of now I have all but 17 sold, so I'm doing pretty well. They're due this Wednesday though, so I don't think I'll get too many more sold. Still, I'm proud of what I accomplished and I sure do look forward to partying on the Queen Mary, going back to Disneyland and marching in the parade, seeing Hollywood, going to Sea World and visiting the beach at Costa Mesa! I need to get back in shape so I can wear my bikini. Ha ha.... Like I have time for that..... Plus, since it's CA it'll prolly be rainy and 65 degrees over New Years. *knocks on wood*

Otherwise it's been fairly quiet at the apartment Cody, Cat, Josh and I live in. The four of us rarely see each other we're so busy. Cody and I are looking forward to this weekend; we're heading up to Minneapolis to see Dark Funeral in concert. Should be a good time; but from what I hear from Cody almost nothing could top the energy of the Finntroll concert that I missed because of Hobo Days. Darn! Oh well, these things do happen. For those of you who haven't seen Cody in a while he has a bit of a beard going on (it's quite dashing), he bought a mustache/beard trimmer and we worked on figuring it today. For dinner I made pizza and found out that pizza dough takes a bit of coercing to get into a flat, non-lumpy formation. But it was totally worth it and delicious. I should really take some more cookies to work.

In other news:
I don't know what I'm doing for Halloween, but I'm tempted to see if I can still pull off looking young and trick-or-treat. I've been helping my co-worker figure out her 'naughty lab-technician' outfit. I'm certain she'll look stunning in it, if not outright provocative. Tehee.

I have a massive urge to be artistic and a lot of my homework has been feeling the brunt of the doodles.

I've been playing a good bit of Dungeon Runners recently; and I want to play Portal(not just watch Cody play) but I don't want to have to worry about having to stop once I start. Perhaps it will be a winter break thing. Assuming all of the neat new games Cody is intending to get don't distract me first.

My car is currently in the shop due to an axle boot breaking, good thing the mechanic noticed, otherwise I may have lost a wheel. So I'll be getting that back on the way home from Minneapolis, hopefully nothing else went wrong.

Other than that, I hope to see you all sometime in the near future! Sorry I'm not better at keeping in touch. *pokes* ha ha.
