Hi, sweetie!

I have an iron-clad rule against memes--part of my larger campaign to *focus* and get the dissertation written--but this sounds fun. (At least, it was a lot of fun to read yours just now.) Do you mind if I just reply here? This will be a good lunch break.

1. My left elbow is filled with more than a dozen titanium pins and plates. I'd love to say it's the injury I got when I was doing something heroic--saving kindergartners from a runaway school bus, perhaps--but the sad fact of the matter is that I tripped and fell. The elbow's recovered but no longer straightens out.

2. Many, many years ago in Chicago my great-grandfather was the chauffeur for the one of the founders of Sears, Roebuck, and Co.

3. I'm just the opposite of you--no musical ability at all. My singing voice is so bad that I can't even hum a tune that my friends can recognize.

4. I like tea so much we have an entire cabinet devoted to it in the kitchen.

5. I'm deathly allergic to cats, but I still wish I could have one.

6. Not only have I not smoked weed, I haven't smoked cigarettes and...drumroll...have never been drunk. No moral issues with any of these things at all, it's just never happened.

Yup, reply here, that is cool. I know what you mean about memes, I try to avoid them, but lately a bunch have grabbed me, so there it is. *rolls eyes*

Ouch on the elbow. *rubs mine in sympathy*

Mmmm tea...we love our tea too. My hubby is Scottish and he was raised on tea. Right now my favorite is Earl Grey Vanilla, but I love just regular Earl Grey too. And peppermint. And honey lemon. And blackcurrant. Mmm tea....*drools*

Awww, cats rule! Really, I like dogs better, but Paul is a cat person and we have three. Yup, you read that right. Three.

So...you really are good girl! I have done all three of those things although way less on the cigarettes *gags* than the other two. Good for you though. I totally respect people who have never, like my hubby who drinks rarely but has never gone near the others.

Nice, thanks Maggie. It's cool to see what we have in common and what we don't. Hope you had a good lunch break. *gives you a cookie, they're oatmeal chocolate chip today* *winks*

Oatmeal chocolate chip? Excellent! I'm just settling in for an afternoon tea break, too.

Interesting about Mr. Star and the tea drinking--for some reason, I've noticed, straight, red-blooded North American men don't seem to drink tea. Whenever I run across a man who does, he's from Europe or Asia or has spent time traveling or is gay. Or *something.* Very puzzling, since tea is so obviously a good thing.

Never tried Earl Grey vanilla, but I can see that being a very, very good combination.

And I'm such a good girl, aren't I? *sigh* There are so many things I missed out on when I was younger, and sadly I'm now old enough that I'm not really interested in experimenting any more. I've also never been to a rock concert, don't have my ears pierced (much less anything else), and never picked up much slang. Funny, hm?

Happy weekend! Hope you have some fun things planned.
Maggie

Yeah, not alot of men drink tea, very true. Apparently it's like water in Scotland, so that would explain that. Tea is yummy. :D

Mmm, try the earl grey vanilla, is wonderful.

Rock concerts are meh, I've never been too into that kind of thing. As for piercings, I pierced my ears alot, I have 3 in one ear and 4 in the other, but never pierced anything else. I don't wear earrings now though, just cause my skin is sensitive and I can't be bothered.

Nothing planned this weekend except hopefully doing some writing, I haven't for almost 2 weeks now. We were all very sick and my daughter is still a whiny crying demanding prescence. However, hubby has an extra day off, so some of the pressure will relax for sure. Yay for 3 day weekends! I had a new plot bunny run itself almost fully formed through my head, so I jotted down an outline and I'm thinking about writing a few scenes for it, not in order, of course. ;)

Plus I have lots of other fics to work on. I am really in a writing mood, so I'm going to get snapping. *picks up my poor lonely pen*
