I can say with certainty that this year has been one of the best years of my time at secondary school.
I think a great part of it was due to the fact that I got all of the courses that I wanted to do - I take Triple Science, History, Geography and Drama...which are all subjects that I like - and History, Geography and Triple Science are definitely subjects that I am very passionate about.
But that's not all...
I got my test results back before the summer holidays.
I got a C for Maths [which I am working on, I want to get an A for my GCSEs] and another C for Drama which I also am planning to work on, but I'm not exactly confident I'd get a A for that...
I got a B in History is because I didn't understand two of the questions - didn't exactly help that one of them was ambiguous...
But the great news is that...
I GOT AN A* FOR MY ENGLISH LANGUAGE! Top of the class - and I'm in the highest set for English [sets in schools in England are grouped by ability, but if the number of pupils for one set exceed the maximum number set for a class, some pupils have to go into a lower set].
YAY!
I got a B for English Literature....
I'm hoping that I can get it to an A* for next year since English is my forte.
I'm still waiting for my RE GCSE results - they are presented last week before school starts, in August - and my Triple Science results are going to, probably, be revealed to be in September - I'm more nervous about my Triple Science GCSE results than my RE ones.
But anyway...
I ALSO GOT AN A* FOR GEOGRAPHY!
So I'm doing the higher paper for now.
The news is even more impressive to me because I found the geography paper extremely hard and very frustrating. So I suppose I'm going to have revise a lot about Geography...
I hope that my winning streak for coming top or joint top in English continues next year!
God willing.
And, on top of that, I BECAME A PREFECT!
When I heard, I couldn't believe it. It's been one of my dreams to become a Prefect because it looks great on your CV. And I'd always pictured myself as a more confident person because of it - I am a more confident person but I think that's because I'm in classes that I love and with people who can be very serious about their work.
I'm not sure if those on my friends list know what a Prefect is so I'll just describe it - a Prefect is a person who serves her school by helping out at special events [such as talent shows or Sports Day] and who enforces the rules of the school.
Nevertheless, I'm pretty sure that the end of next year is going to be really emotional. But still, the last day of school before we broke up is still probably going to be one I will never forget.
