Getting lost, I mean "Lost," for the next-to-last time!

I thought "Lost" this week was OK, not great...

I mean, yes, it was good that everybody actually got to talk to Jacob finally, and the "God complex" joke was good (though not as good as Captain, Captain Jack Sparrow's "There'll be no living with her after this..."), but I just, I don't know, the main feeling I have is that the last five or so episodes should be written so well that they just hit it out of the park and make you say, "Damn, that was some GOOD TV!"

But that episode felt like it was written in the limo on the way to the office...

Also, something I feared has come true. They spent so much time on things other than the story angles we cared about that they got to the end and said, "Holy shit! What are we going to do with all these characters in which our viewers have invested so much time? We better start killing them off willy-nilly..."

Which is fine if it's some new person like Zoe, but c'mon, people who've been around for years deserve some sort of suitable goodbye ... and yes, I think Sun and Jin got one ... not a great goodbye, but decent ... I've already talked about how Jin should have left for their daughter's sake ... As for Sayid, well, we all know Sayid died a long time before that...

Richard ... you know, they telegraphed that one so clumsily ... "Oh, I can talk to this man ... he just wants me to join him..." famous last words ... He's a MONSTER, Richard ... you had your chance (actually more than one) to turn to the dark side, Raccoon Boy...

OK, Ben ... I give up ... I mean, they spend weeks rehabilitating him, and then he sees Widmore and BOOM he's back to being all evil and snake-like? Oh, and what island is he going to be in charge of? The island Smokey plans to destroy? That island?

And Ben can kill Widmore (assuming here, of course, all of that wasn't faked in a few minutes of planning), but he couldn't kill him in London? "We both know I can't do that...."

And, AND, if Smokey leaving the island means everybody dies, doesn't that mean Penny dies anyway? Or is it just going to be Smokey and Penny on the planet? And, wow, for a peripheral character, Penny sure has a lot of people who want to kill her, doesn't she?

We still have NO IDEA how the island fits into the big picture: God, heaven, whatever...

And no idea who built all that shit...

Or how to kill Smokey (maybe they just have to say his name three times)...

And if Smokey has never been OFF the island, how does he know it's some place he wants to be? What if he gets here and says, "Well, fuck ... Hawaii was better than this..."

Finally, I couldn't care less about the other timeline and connecting the two ... Am I the only one who feels that way? I mean, we've spent so much time on that timeline, and now Desmond busts everybody out of jail (how many days did Kate and Sayid sit in holding?) and they're going to go to a fancy concert as fugitives? OK...

Also, Desmond runs over Locke; Locke is operated on; Locke recovers, turns down Jack's offer and goes back to work ALL IN "A FEW DAYS"? Really?

Here's what I now want:

-- Smokey dead (I am so tired of ANGRY LOCKE FACE, I cannot tell you...)

-- Jack to throw Ben in the cave and turn him into the new Smokey ... YES!

-- Juliet appearance? "See, I TOLD YOU it worked..." And then Sawyer can call her Blondie one more time just so all you nickname fans can swoon...

I liked Kate in that episode, though ... she didn't have her edge, the one that makes you think she's always one step away from stealing your wallet/running away and/or not being your friend anymore, if Kate truly, actually is a friend to anyone ... she seemed ... nice, for once...

And big ol' softy Jacob ... first, he's all hardline even though, you know, his "MOM" used to have the job ... then ... "It's just a line of chalk in a cave, Kate. You can have the job if you want it..." Awww...

I really, REALLY, though, wanted Jacob to say, "Don't you remember me paying for that lunch box you stole and telling you to stay out of trouble? Hmm?" If I had written that episode, THAT would have been in there, let me tell you...

And I'm not watching any ALTERNATE endings ... that is just goofy ... although I did enjoy it in "Clue" ... but that's it!
