I can't stop listening to Truth.
Which is odd because I can't decipher the words. Maybe that's why. No, it's the metallic hard sounds of rhythm and slide of fuzz. It's very Nine Inch Nails, only purer, sleeker, and less with the annoying vocals. The vocals match perfect which is something I'm really appreciating about Fenton, he knows exactly when to focus on the electronic hook and when to bring in the relief of organic voice. But no, what I find most satisfying is the rhythm of the chorus. He's saying something like "pick one up, come back to you" ... I don't really know and kinda don't care. The sound is just so satisfying, the slice saw of melody, robotic and relentless and mindless.
Definitely going through a progression of favourites. First I loved the expanded experience of The Leather Sea. Then it was Machine, the frenzied percussion and the contrast of Helen Tilley's cold vocals with Fenton's hateful whispers. From there, I went to the stark haunting ache of Everything Changes, a title which kinda makes this fangirl giggle because it's so Take That and Robbie's swishy hair.
And now it's all about Truth.
