first day of the rest of your life

Y'know those moments, those experiences you come out of and realise the moment they stop that you've been changed irrevocably. That your life is now divided into what came before and now what's after.

Joss Whedon's one of those experiences.

Serenity is one.

Annihilated. Utterly in shock. Traumatised, as Z put it. With brilliance, with bravery, with ... god, Whedon. Shell shocked the way that only Whedon can achieve. He's vile. He's genius. He's the epitome of evil brilliant writing. And my god ... my god how did he - could he - do that??

It was a two hour movie. Felt like a year of experience and emotion. I spent most of the two hours with my eyes frozen wide and my hand clamped over my mouth.

Whedon. Bow down. He'll change your life and you'll wonder how you ever did without, you'll be glad you won't ever have to do without again.

My god, I hate him so much right now it makes me sick. Such a fucking beautiful genius.
