apropos of nuffink

On Satdee, when Ari and I were humming and hahing in uncharacteristic indecision at Video Ezy*, I had a minor fannish explosion upon spotting The Scarlet Pimpernel, the 60s(?) Jane Seymour/Anthony Andrews version, on DVD. I know, I know, bad costumes, bad hair, possibly bad acting too.

But Ian McKellen ... as Chauvelin! *falls to knees* Oh god I ( Read more... )

wait, wait, wait. WHAT boy in MR's bed? what did i miss? here i am thinking he's the biggest indiana high-school-geeky hockey-obsessed jock manque, probably sleeping around with women like a tom-cat. what boy in his bed?

actually, i like the thought of him in bed with a boy. hence my fanfiction. :D

Heh, I thought that'd get your attention. :p *so evil* Apparently there was a lot of innuendo when Michael was on Cribs ... rosesmoves has caps up here. Haven't downloaded them myself but heard the naughtiness from rhiannonhero. Possibly I've embellished the details from a haphazard memory. :p

I like boys. I like girls. No difference, really.

duhhhh... i even downloaded the Cribs segment in video format from a french hero-worship site and don't remember any boys/girls thing! i've been sort of privately assuming he's bisexual (just because he's so completely comfortable playing gay characters), but i'm so far out of the know, it hurts. i'll watch it again.

my impression on seeing it: he's a big ol' overgrown BOY. with many expension and ueber-cool toys. i adore him for it, too. huh.

OH, the thing he did, putting on stiletto heels to get on the exercise equipment was great. i would've liked him to put on a dress too. :D

oh sorry, that wasn't a quote from Michael. Gah, I'm so dense sometimes, I assume everyone knows Velvet Goldmine. That's a quote from Brian Slade, paraphrased from Bowie.

Stilettos ... *flops over in faint* God, I do love that boy.

nah, i'm hopelessly ignorant! i misunderstood, it's ok. (my heart went pitty-pat, though, thinking michael had said that. *g*)

yeah, and then he muttered, "my career is ruined," or something similar. i still think the screen caps from Rave are hot hot hot -- his pupils are so dilated, is probably why. it looks like arousal to me. i know nothing of modern drugs. ha.

Hahahaa, he totally would, I can hear him say that. Both Slade and your thing about careers.

And no, I think you're absolutely right. Dilated sexdrugwide eyes, his skin all slick and pearly with e-sweat ... and ohhh the slinky black shirt. *guh* Can't wait to see your reaction to the sex scene. :p

i'm amazed i even know what you mean by "e". haha! god, he's sexy. the thing is about him (and it's something that tends to grab me about really good actors) -- he's a chameleon. he got to me first as adam/adina (i mean, that could've been a role to just clown in), and now i've seen him be all kinds of good and bad as lex and frivolous as parker, and so on, and he always gets into the character so thoroughly. somehow that him attractive in a way that (let's say) tom cruise can't be, because he's always just tom cruise wearing this or that character's clothes. know whut i mean? rosenbaum disappears into his roles. hot hot. :)

btw, i am fully old enough to be his mother. i say that only to show that i'm aware of it. *g*

I know exactly what you mean, I'm kinda like that too. There are eye candy actors, vaguely interesting actors, and then there are those utterly mesmerising chameleons, such a good term vicki. you're so right, michael really does disappear. i find johnny depp does that too, even with an instantly recognisable face like his, it's incredible to watch, isn't it? god, i so get ya.

pah. that doesn't matter. was a time most of the guys i liked were old enough to be my father. pfah. whaaaat's age got to do with it? ;) *makes with the tina turner legs*

oh yes, johnny depp is very good, and he's courageous. with his looks, he could play it safe, but he takes risks. that's a good thing!

>whaaaat's age got to do with it? ;) *makes with the tina turner legs*

thank you! that made me laugh very loudly. i can just see it. :D

you know, it's funny about stories where clark's already experienced when he comes to lex (so to say). it's the same with harry potter stories in which harry is a slut before finding love with whoever. they always leave me as disappointed as lex is here, which must mean i'm also a dangerous romantic. oh, as if there were any doubt of that! :D

that's extremely hot writing, but i tend to key better into clark when he's inexperienced. i haven't seen the red kryptonite episodes yet, though i know a little about them. i'm not looking forward to seeing that beautiful boy act all debauched. (we watched the one last night where a lightning strike transfers clark's powers to some random kid, and it upset gerry! i think we both feel protective of clark. but then why do i not mind his giving it away to lex? hmmmm... *g*)

this one by the same author is very much to my taste: max ernst.

yeah, i have to admit i was quite taken aback by clark's attitude in that fic. in fact, i kept wondering if he was on red!k and was about to go all non-con on lex. but then i realised what the velvetglove was doing with the whole anticlimax thing and fucking loved how she kept undoing lex. i found it incredibly disturbing and thrilling ... as much as i, like you, love the inexperienced clark thing, it was an absolute jolt of electricity to read a characterisation of clark so different that didn't cross over into cliche. also i found it quite a realistic reaction, ficwise, to clark's summer of sin. mostly every other fic either has him in shame, denial, usual puritanical jonathan reaction. the empowered clark here who still loved lex was unexpected and pretty cool ( ... )

oh, don't worry about recommending anything to me. if i have mixed reactions, i'm good at blocking out things i don't like. sometimes it's convenient to have that tunnel vision i've mentioned before. ;)

it's odd about welling. sometimes i look at him and just could CRY because he's so damn pretty. but yeah, there's something uninvolving about his blandness. stills i've seen of him, where his face *clearly* shows that he knows what he looks like and is using it, are much more interesting. that's why those RPS stories by thamiris are so darn hot.

so long as he's not mooning over lana, is the thing... :D

examples: oh yes i'm pretty; and i know it very well; c'mon, danny, let's play pool. haha!

guh. talk about a triple threat of gorgeosity. i know exactly what you mean, that hint of devilry and intelligence is just guh and it's awful how little i've seen of that in smallville. and yes, tham!fic!! *nods fiercely*

i've always forgotten to say that's why i like your clark!icon so much ... cos it's red!k clark .... mmmmmmmmm devilry.

jesus, that welling. *wavers, clings to the rosen!beamage, not that it has to be one or the other but still, rosen!love*
