I guess I really have been living in drought most of the time I've lived in Brisbane. This summer is Mango Season. All the mango trees have been covered with far more mangoes than I'm used to. The tree in our own garden still has ripening fruit that hasn't been taken by fruit bats, while other mangoes lie half-eaten on the lawn (usually we can score a few for ourselves if we're really vigilant in December). Our tray of mangoes (that began with a bought tray early in the season) is full of mangoes we haven't paid for that are decomposing because we can't eat them as fast as they ripen. And council is
is offering a special mango disposal service I don't remember ever seeing before.
