As the timer on the year end countdown show wind down to 30 seconds, we all start paying closer attention as the seconds ticked away. Soon, we reached the last 10 seconds of 2014.
"No wait, I'm not done with 2014 yet!"
"Too late, 2015 is coming."
2014 came and went, and I didn't make much of an effort to post anything on here. I thought about it, but time didn't really allowed me to. A short look back at my resolution for 2014, I actually didn't do that bad. Aside from doing well in school, I excelled in it more than I have ever done in school. I completed my diploma program in Early Childhood Education, with the Deans honour for all three terms. Zero 'C's, and even managed to pull a straight 'A' for the last term. On top of those grades I met and befriended a lot of new people that I know I will keep in contact with, including the faculties of the program.
Through my training, I've learned to notice little things (though not exactly what kind of little things I originally defined) as part of my job. And although I have been watching what I've been eating, and was aware of the food choices I was making most of the time, the lack of time for physical movement didn't really help with the original intention behind the resolution (to lose weight).
This year, I have quite a few small resolutions that I'll like to work on. Starting off with LJ, or in a more general topic, writing.
1) Writing.
In 2014, I tried to keep up with my daily journal but I didn't do too well. Though to be honest, aside from noting "I did school work" there wasn't a whole lot of interesting things to say. This year I want to pick back up on this habit. And as a bonus, try to post on LJ once in a blue moon. (let's aim for at least 2-3 entries this year)
2) Reading.
Another habit that I lost in 2014. But with school (mostly) out of the way, I want to pick this back up again. Going to set the goal low, and aim to finish 5 books this year.
3) Get out of Vancouver.
This doesn't mean to leave Vancouver per say, but just to venture out more. I'm currently in the middle of renewing my passport, and I know I won't be able to travel out of the country for another, oh 6 months. But, I refuse to let this stop me from seeing the world. There are still places to see in BC, just that they may be more expensive... and not as "out there" as traveling to other parts of the world.
