マスカラ毎日つけ... ARGH!!!!!!

Apr 22, 2009 23:59

Ah how I love having the day off... and it gives me all the time in the world to get ready for tonight's dinner too *(^O^)*

Took Ernie for a walk to the nearby Starbucks before I really got down to getting ready. The dinner was at 6:30, and I planned to leave the house around 6:20. Around 6:05 I was satisfied with the makeup process, when I decided what the heck why not put mascara on too.

Big mistake.

I messed up, smudged some of it to the eye lid so had to wipe everything off and do it again. But the time I redid everything it was 6:20. I was going to put on glitter eye liner too, but couldn't find it (good thing too as I would have definitely messed that up too!) I looked in the mirror before dashing out the room and thought "Meh, I should really put on make up more often"

By the time I got to the restaurant, it was 6:50 so no time for pictures with everyone. But did managed to snap photos with various people throughout the dinner!

The entire dinner itself was interesting. For starter, the number of attendee was much smaller than I anticipated because apparently there were only so many spots available. The seating arrangements were pre-determined, which made sense. The food was surprisingly delicious.

Appetizer // Greek Salad

Entrées // Feta Kota - Baked breaded chicken breast, stuffed with spinach and feta cheese topped with a light dill wine sauce, served with creamy fettuccine noodles and fresh vegetables sauce

Dessert // No idea what's what. And no I did not eat the whole thing, just had a small moose type of thing.

And of course, some pictures from the night.

Kenny + May // Kenny is actually that tall... or rather, we're really that short. Anyway, I'm 5"2 with ~2 inch heels on, so you do the calculation.

Loretta // Or as I usually call her, TaTa

Annette + Amy + me + TaTa + Yvonne + Ivanne

The three of us were sitting at the same table

Alice on the right, the "host" of the event

Sharon @ our table (it should be note that I pretty much refuse to walk to other table and just waited around for others to come =P Kind of my way of testing which people that didn't care and those that did... well, or those that came to take a picture to pretend they care but it's only there to show their popularity)

After dinner me, Yvonne and Ivanne (+ her boyfriend) went for a drink. That's when we recap the dinner. Honestly, this dinner was a show; a show for the current board and to show the present exec how great and wonderful they are. So many of the things that were said tonight, could only be accounted for the time period of 2008 - 2009. I realize that there's probably no way they could have found out the other history without knowing older execs... did I ever mention how grateful I am that Howie told me all the things that had happened before I became a board member?
Just to list a few things...
  • They praised Yukie for jumping in and saving MD last Fall. Gee, I wonder why he had to save it in the first place
  • Had a club record of 200+ member in Fall 2008... without realizing Fall 2006 had 300+ members
  • Gave an award to all the current board members and only the board members

So I'm going to say... if next year no one I know like let me know about the annual dinner, I'm definitely not going.

And what irony it is that I bump into Annie Tse while we were waiting for our seats! She was the PR director when I first joined the club.
