Yeah, so i forgot that livejournal existed for a while. sorry.
Dan's friend, Mark just left our apartment. He's been in town since yesterday afternoon and got to shadow Dan for a (half) day of classes. So, for all of you involved in the music department in one way or another, Mark should be here next year. He's a nice guy, and if hanging out with him for a little less than a day is any indication of how things are going to be next year, POD will be gaining a quality trumpet player, as well as a fun person. Happy news.
Maybe it's the Clevelander in me, but does anyone else think that classes we cancelled until noon for no real reason? I think Paul said it best: "the city of dayton needs to learn how to use a fucking plow." I'm not going to complain about being able to sleep in, but this is pretty standard snowfall for most areas north of the mason-dixon line. I enjoyed my extra time in bed and reprieve from theory, but I have to believe that the university is going to pull one of those 'it's Thursday, but we're making it a Monday' deals in order to even out the number of days missed for both schedules. Guess we'll see.
UD vs. Xavier was... well it was a good game at least. The Flyers proved (again) that they can easily hang with the best. Essentially, we lost by one rebound in the last 20 seconds. Even more disturbing might be the fact that people who watched the game on TV said that we were assessed a technical foul for the asshole who threw the battery onto the court. If that's true, then that battery cost us the game (they sunk both foul shots). Sucks. But we still have one round off in the A10 tournament, and the possibility of and NCAA trip is also well within grasp. Sucks to lose to a rival, but let's give credit where credit's due: Xavier played better. We'll get 'em in the tournament. Hope i'm there and not watching on TV.
