My last class helped me assess a few changes I want to make. I know that writing journals helps me to keep on track with things, so I'm going to list some of the changes:
I'm aiming to lose some weight after the gain from medications last year that I haven't been able to simply take back off after finishing the meds. I'm looking at a total goal of about 25-30 lbs. in order to be at an optimal health/weight. I also need to reduce stress (hard for me) so I'm going to combine exercise at the gym with yoga and hopefully Tai Chi.
I'm aiming to significantly reduce my caffeine intake; this includes coffee, tea, and sodas. I know it's extra-bad for me. I've already mostly nixed soda (except for an occasional soda) since last month. I tend to eat and drink badly when I'm stressed and the past months have been seriously straining. My next goal is reducing coffee, which is difficult but doable. I figure that I can mostly rid myself of coffee in the morning so long as I start eating breakfast and drinking a glass of juice, water, or milk (almond or soy likely) instead. Having an occasional coffee is okay, but I shouldn't have it every single day.
So, starting this weekend:
I will weigh myself, write it down, and start going to the gym.
I will back off my coffee to one cup and ease myself off it within two weeks.
I will start eating breakfast (fruit, yogurt, cereal, or something else healthy).
Going to write down my progress, at least in a personal journal if not a public one. Posting milestones periodically.
I'm also going to work on some other aspects, but I feel those are personal and don't need to be written publicly. Wish me luck!
If anyone wants to know what the assignment was so that they might create their own plan, I will happily post it.
