[Having already explored the main city and secured a few essentials (which included an umbrella and a new outfit), Calliste had decided to make her way deeper into Veja's forests to explore a little.
She hadn't, however, expected to meet a freezing boy holed up in a cave just a mile outside of town.]

[ Just as he didn't expect to see someone wandering through the forest after he had trekked it as he had. It made him jump at the very sound of the voice. Good chances he would have been scuttling to his feet, too, if her tone hadn't come off so calm. That wasn't to say he was particularly trusting of whoever this young lady was...
It was spelled out in his gaze alone, the uncertainty. But he couldn't hide the hope in his eyes. So, he wasn't alone. ...It didn't really change things as they were- not the big picture anyway. But it was something. Still. ]
Yeah, just great. [ Forgive the slight frustration in his voice. Been a rough day. ]
[She nods and closes her umbrella, stepping into the cave to sit across from him. She wants to get a good look at his face-- which is so similar to Ven's, it's uncanny.
This boy is definitely different from Ven though.]
[ Maybe... he should have been more on guard. It was a feeling that crept up on his slightly as he felt her gaze on him, studying him. But... So far, nothing bad at happened. No time freezes. No strange guys in white. Everything felt... calm.
It was only the question that stirred anything, making him blink before... And maybe with a tightness to the words. ] It's Tobias. [ He tried so hard to make it sound convincingly certain at least. Doesn't exactly have the best poker face here though. ] What's yours?
[She openly looks at him for a few moments longer, wondering how it was that he looked so much like her friend. The desire to bring Ven out of his deep slumber is still fresh in her mind, and maybe...just maybe, this boy knows something. It's too much of a coincidence to ignore.
But Tobias is freezing in the cold weather, and her instinct to help him overrides her burning curiosity. Ven...he wouldn't mind waiting a little bit. She knew he'd want her to help others first.]
...why don't we head to town? It's a lot warmer there than here.
[ There was a nod from his end. And then there was that awkward silence. At least- it was awkward to him as he felt her eyes upon him again, almost as if she was trying to piece something together. But as he wondered about what she was wondering about, she suddenly spoke up again.
Town... That seemed like an appealing idea. It got another nod out of him, but. ] It's not too far from here, is it? [ Part of him almost wished it were. He was feeling like an idiot for not being able to find some place so close nearby. But only a small part of him. The rest? Was more than relieved. ]
[ Sure he woulda- Well, yeah. Maybe if he had just...
And then there was a cloak in his face. His hand had subconsciously moved to touch it as he looked at it and then looked back at Calliste. Then back at the cloak. Feeling just a bit offset. ]
...What? -You don't have to... [ Man, this felt weird. And he was kind of soaked to the bone already... He didn't want to ruin it. ]

[ He scrutinized the cloak a moment longer, glimpsing back up at her. It was that expression that finally made him take it with a stiffness. A movement that carried on as he slipped it lightly over his shoulders. It honestly looked like it would fall off any moment yet he was making no attempt to adjust it. Just feeling so... bizarre. ]
[She gives him a small smile when he accepts it before standing up. If it were any other person, they would have felt bizarre too, but Aqua is used to these sort of situations, so she doesn't find it strange at all to pick up a stranger and help them.]

[ It took him a bit to find his own footing. Some slip-sliding, but he managed all the same. Having to grab the cloak though when it almost fell off of him. Adjusting it then so that it was better fit on him before his attention turned back to Calliste. With a shake of his head. ]
This is all I got. [ He pat the laptop slightly in emphasis. Wondering if it would even still work at this point. And wondering if he should really care for that matter. ]
/o/ It's cool. I've been a zombie anyway the past couple days!simulatedsummerSeptember 15 2011, 21:48:58 UTC
[ He followed with her. It felt... weird walking with her. Not a bad weird. Just a... new person weird. She was taller than him, too. But a good height. Older, too, although it was hard to gauge by how much. He had never been good at that anyway. The clothes she wore, too. It wasn't anything he was familiar with. He kept sneaking glances when he thought she wasn't looking.
She hadn't, however, expected to meet a freezing boy holed up in a cave just a mile outside of town.]
Hey...are you alright?

Do you mind if I sit with you?

If you want. [ Not like he was doing anything important. Just trying to decipher if this was all even real or not. ]
