addressing a sub-par overall GPA in statement
Hey all,
I'm looking to apply to four programs: three in library/information science and one dual program, an MA in English lit/MLS. My overall gpa was a 2.5. My double majors (in media studies and English lit): 3.0 and 3.6. I want to address my shitty gpa in my statement but I don't quite know how to go about doing so. I spent 7 years on my BA (going part-time as I worked in libraries and archives). My performance was erratic rather than a shitty semester or two. I just don't know how to address it without sounding like I'm whining since I'm clearly capable of doing well in classes in my field.
How should I deal with this in my statement? How would/have you?
