Haha yeah, it's pretty much the same everywhere. I'm from California and it's the same story - that and tuition went up 32%.

That's not necessarily the case; for example, it's fairly common to get (some) funding at LSE, even as an international student. In the general case, though, you'll be self-funding.

LSE does, yes. They're extremely aggressive about it, because they have a high international population.

Yeah my roommate got have her tuition covered by LSE for her Master's. I couldn't believe it! Lucky girl.

I guess in my case "some" was always (in my mind) equivalent to none. Because I am just not willing to go into debt. So .. yeah.

It's a choice, and not one everyone's comfortable making. I wouldn't do it for a US program but, basically, I've got reasons for wanting a UK program that make some additional debt worth it.
