SOP final (but needs some help)

 Hi! all,

As my intelligent systems design project in my undergraduate course, inspired by my past training as a successful All-India inter-university level 100-metre sprinter, I developed “SprintTech” software to recommend individualized workout plans to athletes to improve performance based on the knowledge acquired from previous training data and following standard training principles. Workout plan for every session of practice is adapted for variables such as current fitness level, targeted performance level, feedback data of athlete from previous sessions, current phase of the training. SprintTech uses a single-layer recurrent neural network, with a hidden layer of neurons with a learning algorithm that modifies the synaptic weights of the workout generator.

SprintTech was accepted by my college sports department and by Sports Authority of Andhra Pradesh coach Mr. N. Venkat Rao, who used workout plans of SprintTech to train his sprinters team and they found it useful and efficient in terms of planning and adapting to the athlete’s conditions over the season. SprintTech stood at 3rd place in a national software project competition at the National Institute of Technology in Jamshedpur, India. I received achiever of academics of QIS College of Eng. & Tech. award from JNTU Kakinada for my project work and my overall performance in department.

In my B.Tech except Neural Networks I didn’t have any other AI course in my curriculum, so that gave me a serious reason for in-depth study of artificial intelligence techniques for reasoning, planning, and learning as extra curriculum. I received help from my project guide Mr. Sai Krishna Thotakura and my Head of the Department Mrs. Laksmi Tulasi Ravulapalli many times when I faced difficulties in the implementation of the concepts. While doing my project work apart from gaining knowledge and experience I also gained confidence that AI is the area where I can excel and devoting myself to AI was the right decision.

My research plans are vested in Artificial Intelligence and building autonomous agents that senses and acts on their environment in the service of the designed agenda. Currently I am working on inductive learning for obtaining general domain knowledge from the specific knowledge provided by domain examples, decision trees which maps observations about an item to conclusions about the item's target value, and reinforcement learning to automatically determine the ideal behavior within a specific context, in order to maximize its performance using reinforcement signal. My further research interests revolve around the design and implementation of cognitive, software agents, their computational applications, and their use in cognitive modeling.

The MSCS program in College of Computing at XXXXXX of Technology, apart from providing well rounded graduate courses in AI, it will also give me the opportunity to take part in ongoing research at Design & Intelligence Laboratory, Cognitive Computing Lab and The Laboratory for Interactive Artificial Intelligence which are investigating different aspects of AI. I wish to be a part of the AI community at College of Computing specifically Associate Professor XXXXXX ’s current projects on analogical reasoning, visual reasoning and meta-reasoning and Associate Professor XXXXXX 's research work on adaptive modeling and Associate Professor XXXXXX ’s research work on cognitive modeling, case-based reasoning, matches with my interests.

After completing my MSCS at XXXXXX Institute of Technology I hope to do multidisciplinary courses like biologically inspired AI modeling, Probabilistic Neuroscience, Neuroscience, Statistics & Probability, Computational Neuroscience, Statistical Computing and Statistical Machine Learning which will provide me with the required concepts and tools before going on to do a PhD in the development of AI systems.

Thank you all, especially bluetourmaline, tisiphone and jadedauteur for shaping my SOP and editing.
