Hi everyone,
I'm new here but thought I'd give this a shot. From browsing through the questions and comments, I think you might be able to help me out a bit. I'm looking to apply to graduate school for Victorian studies, if such a program even exists. I'm primarily interested in literature, but also history, art, and fashion. (My bachelor's is in English literature and Art History.) I am worried that if I apply to the literature department, the coursework will be too narrow and I'll be a literature student first, Victorianist second. Is this a foolish concern because I will be allowed to specialize intensely once I am accepted? I'm not sure. And, are there any particular schools and programs you might be able to recommend? Ideally I would like to stay within the U.S..
Thanks in advance for any help you can give me! I assure you I sincerely appreciate it :)
