Contacting Professors?
Hey there!
I am planning on applying to graduate programs in English for Fall 2011. I have read that it is acceptable to reach out to professors of certain programs that have similar interests to yours. My question is, is this true and what's the proper way to go about this?
I am especially interested to do this at one school (UofConneticut) since in my undergrad I wrote a critical paper (one of two I would use as an example of my writing) in which I quoted extensively from a book written by a prof of that school. I actually found the graduate program by looking up where she went to school because I want to continue to study the same topic, and then I found that she teaches at UofConn. I should also say that it is rather an obscure, specialized topic that there wouldn't necessarily be 'experts' in at every school.
