where am I going to find a third LOR?
I graduated this May and will apply to graduate programs in math this fall. I already have letters from my honors advisor and a professor who sat on the hearing committee for my thesis. The other professor on the committee originally expressed his willingness to write me a letter but has since reneged. Most of the math courses I took were from these professors, and of the remaining ones, none know me well enough to write a strong letter. Since most programs require three letters, I'm in a bit of a situation. Any advice?
I've thought about enrolling in another math course this fall and brown-nosing (not really) my way to a third letter, but this would be expensive and there's no guarantee he or she would be willing to write a letter anyway.
