Writing Sample basic Q's about MLA style?

Jan 11, 2010 22:55

Can someone kindly remind me of some of the basic MLA style rules.  I cannot find my style book!

1.  About using numbers in MLA style?  Do you write out numbers or do you type them as is?  What about when reporting percents?

2.  How do you correctly site 2 different authors that you are paraphrasing from? For example, Johnson et al, and Smith et al found that there was a big improvement in test scores among those attended the test prep course (citation*).

*That info came from the Johnson et al article, page 25, 2001, and the Smith et al article, page 3, 2006.  So how would a cite it, or what would I put in the brackets that follow the sentence?

Thanks.  If you can direct me to a helpful site instead, that would also be appreciated.  I am finding too many bogus sites with contradicting info!
